Labradorite ~ is an iridescent, smoky greenish greyish gemstone with flashes of blue metallic luster when viewed from certain angles.
This flash of color is called “the labradorescent effect” It is believed, to be due to the presence of very fine platelets of different compositions as well as minute inclusions of limenite, rutile and possible magnetite which cause the diffraction of light.
Labradorite gets it name from where it was first discovered ~ in Labrador, Canada, in 1770. It does exist throughout the world. Its color often indicates which country it came from. For example, the gray variety is usually from Canada, while yellow is often from Russia.
Some say it aligns physical and etheric bodies, stimulating intuition and psychic gifts. Promoting ‘right timing’ & banishes fear, insecurities and strengthens faith in oneself. Energizing imagination and balances ‘inner sight’. My favorite is that it is a ‘dispeller of illisions’…
Whatever it does for you personally, is all that matters. I love it for it’s mysterious colors, and how they change before your eyes. Part of me even believes it can look different from one person to the next. If you find a connection in one piece when you see it, then it’s meant to be yours and maybe it, found YOU.
